Meet our newest Bakery Associate, LaSonya. Her smile is infectious and you will enjoy her morning conversation while she takes your order at Public Square. We caught up with LaSonya to find out more about her.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio.
What’s your first childhood memory of baking?
My first memory of baking is with my Dad when I helped him make homemade cornbread.
What’s your specialty?
My specialty is fried chicken and roast.
If you could eat only one food for the rest of your days what would it be?
If I could eat a BLT for the rest of my life I would be happy.
What’s been your experience with Towards Employment?
I was really down and unhappy with myself until I went and graduated from my class at Towards Employment. The entire staff was nothing but helpful and understanding to my needs, and my instructors believed in me more than I believed in myself.
What’s your goal while at Bloom Bakery?
My goal is to seize this opportunity and make it a stepping stone to enhance my misfortune into greatness through hard work and dedication and potentially become a leader within the company.
Why is Bloom’s mission important to you?
Bloom's mission is important to me because it helps people to overcome their barriers and move forward with a positive attitude and belief in themselves and as for me its giving me my self worth and independence back.
